1. Recording ourselves working on a problem.
2. My favorite memory is when there was the lockdown because the was supposedly a shooter in the school but it was a lie and right before going into class i drank a whole gatorade and i really needed to use the bathroom, so many people fell asleep, in was a scary experience but it was definitely one of my favorites.
3. I really enjoyed how chill and caring mr. B is to us, how much he pushed us to do well and beyond well because it honestly made me look forward to math and feel more positive about myself and the effort I put into my work. I'm going to miss this class a lot because the kids in my class are the kids I've had a math class with for around two or almost three years now :( Math class this year was fun :)
4. One of the coolest moments in math class was when we were doing our conics unit and mr.b was showing us a simulation. I remember being so mind blown when he stretched the ellipse so far it broke into a hyperbola. That was crazy.
5. Mr. B saw Brandon with his head down and asked him to answer a question on the board. It was a really easy and simple question. (A first grader could have answered it) But Brandon has no clue as to what was going on and proceeded to give random answers. That was just about the funniest moment I've ever experienced in a math class. I've learned that being wrong is actually a good thing (except on tests) and you shouldn't feel too discouraged if you get something wrong. - Albert
6. I remember when we had been racing each other as a group in semester two, and i tried to move us to the final spot, even though it was obviously not fair, as it would move us three spots forward. It was fun to mess around. I also remember when you could not remember how to prove an equation, so we spent five minutes at the end of the class just sitting there.
7. You made the class fun. You're such an energetic person and caring. You made pre calc a fun and exciting class to be in
8. I HAVE A LOT MR B!!!! alright so the first one can be that day when we were working on a math problem and nobody knew the answer and you said that nobody out of all your periods guessed it until I said it ? I forgot what the problem was but all I remember is that it had to do into converting it into a log, and I had said log and you were so happy that I had guessed it right, you gave me your bone thingy from your desk, you called it the thinker or something but yeah that was a good day! ALSO when George and I would ask you if you were toxic and you would answer oh yes cause you said you are toxic. ICONIC. And my ultimate favorite is when Eric thought you were mexican and said that you looked like you owned a mustang ? and from there on out, we would always ask you about your mustang ? good times good times... and when you said Benito Juarez soooo good and everyone was so shook, that was a good one too. You have been officially been invited to the cookout mr. b. Congratulations! anyway, thank you so much for being such a great teacher, I learned a lot in your class and getting to have you as a teacher was such an amazing and fun experience. I'm gonna miss you Mr. B:((
- One of your favorite students, Alondra Martinez
9. I enjoyed all the personal stories you shared with the class. They were very funny and gave me a glimpse into your at home life; reminding me that you're also a fun human, not just a regular teacher.
10. Well, there are so many wonderful moments during 6th period, sometimes it was so much fun it went by so quick, before I knew it class was pretty much over. I remember when Mr.B would talk about his mustang or give out candy. Non of those matter most than him not wanting to give up on his students. He never stopped at helping use succeed. The sacrifices he makes to ensure that we have a successful year. He wasn't just a math teacher. He was a father, a husband, and most importantly a very wise man who had a good heart and deserves every good thing coming his way. He helped me whenever I was down and even called me to tell me that everyone was going to be okay which to this day I'll never forget. I would always look forward to his class and see what new thing we'll be covering or even those review packets where I would take advantage to watch Netflix, sorryyyyy by the way. The class in general was very astonishing, thank you for never giving up. I'm really going to miss your class, I'll pay you a couple of visits my senior year, until then have a wonderful summer. -Jeremy :,)
11. mr b always including all of us when it came to answering problems and making sure we understood everything and answering our questions until we understood
12. I remember when I was asked to answer a question and the way I solved it was so long that we spent like 10 minutes doing the question when if we did it the other way it would take 3 minutes.
-Melanie P
13. The time when we talked about tik tok was really funny. Specially when the class wanted you to do one?
14. I got to meet nice people and an awesome teacher. Although sometimes it was really challenging it was fun overall. The class was funny we really got jokes. That was probably the most I've ever seen Mr. B laugh with us. He still needs to make a tik tok with me so we can both become famous.
- Itzel
15. I'll forever appreciate the way you teach and the way you push students to do their best for their own good ((:
16. The stories about your kids were pretty funny, I always enjoyed it because even do you were serious about teaching your students (aka your kids), you tried to make it positive, keep the class as active as possible always trying to make us talk our minds and I really appreciate how you always believed about all of us and I thank you for that Mr. B.
17. A funny moment I remember was when we were making a video on flip grip. Me and my team mates will mess up so many times. (we did it tho!)
18. One time I went early to do my test or quiz corrections and when I went up to you you started comparing my handwriting to greek alphabet and even showed me in my notebook an example of it. Then during class you asked my group if they had ever seen someone write my letters like me and everyone was saying that they hadn't.
19. Omg Mr.B, I remember going up to you to tell you that I wanted to drop the class and I gave you my reasons why (I was having a lot of absences because of doctor appointments and I was so stressed) and you told me I was a great student and that you believed in me and to not give up. Just like that I was full of hope and encouragement and I took your words. Then that day I went home to do the homework and I didn't understand ANYTHING?. The point is that my moment of optimism literally lasted a few hours. The whole year I was so upset over the fact that I let you talk me into staying while I still continued to be stressed. Mr.B you have a way with your words, you can talk anyone in and out of stuff so easily. I gotta admit I am proud I managed to survive. Thank you Mr.B!
20. I liked being in class and when Mr B would always say Thank you for trying after asking a question to me or someone even when we CLEARLY knew nothing :-) It made me feel like I was in a safe space with no judgement. Thank you mr b.
21. Getting a 5 in my first unit test
22. Overall, I think everyday was a positive experience since you always encouraged us to try every problem and believed that we had the ability to do it, even if we thought we couldn't. A funny experience would be when Esme & I were recording the conics video and we were trying to find any math puns to use.
-Myrka Q
23. I loved how supportive the class was, if you got something wrong, we would laugh it off and get steered in the right direction as long as we tried. Everyone got a chance to explain their answers and perspectives which was really cool.
24. The calculus class coming in to sing for us before Christmas break. Pretty much as awkward and funny as you can imagine.
25. I enjoy every mathematical jokes that you have said throughout the year. They made me chuckle and smile. I also like the fun activities for holidays. Thank you so much for talking to us as a supporting teacher. I will never forget you as my favorite math teacher :)
26. Something funny that i remember from this year's math class was Halloween. I remember the whole situation about the candy.
27. Mr. B's passionate talks about how amazing the world of math is were my favorites even though I don't even really like math. But he is literally the living embodiment of living for meaning not money. I hope one day I do what I love for a living like you do. -Daniel B
28. One memorable moment that I had in this class was when Mr. B called on me to answer a question about money and asked me to choose between two options. My answer to him was that I didn't like money. From that point on I was the weird one in the class. Later on I had won a Kahoot! and he offered me some candy. At that point I refused the candy because I told him that I didn't like candy. That was another moment where I was the weird one in the class.
29. "My calculator isn't in degree mode, it's in sicko mode."
"Rogelio."
"What's a conjugate."
"On Christmas having the other class sing."
There's probably more but I can't really remember.
